COSI FAN TUTTE
Mozart’s delightful comic opera Cosi fan Tutte tells
of two young soldiers who are greatly enamoured of two
fair sisters, whom they believe to be totally immune to
temptation. But for the purposes of a wager, they pretend
to have gone to war, only to in fact disguise themselves
in order to try to seduce the other sister. Cosi fan Tutte
relates the unfolding drama, with many of the arias (including
Fiordiligi’s “Come scoglio” and “Per
pietà”) ranking among Mozart’s greatest.

Bizet, and an excerpt from Puccini’s La Boheme, together

Puccini’s Humming Chorus. |

With Barbara Jay, Lee Gibson, Joan Viskant and the Tommy
Whittle Quartet Acclaimed as one of the great voices of
the 20th century, Ella Fitzgerald was an icon of the jazz
world. This tribute presentation by three terrific female
vocalists, backed by a great tenor saxophonist and his quartet,
has been acclaimed in its own right. Featuring many of the
best remembered songs of this legendary performer such as
Bewitched, That Old Black Magic and Every Time we say Goodbye
this is a must show for all Ella Fitzgerald fans. |
